Seylan Bank has partnered with the Sabaragamuwa Province Entrepreneur of the Year 2024 due to held on December 18.
The event is an annual celebration commemorating, rewarding, and motivating the best entrepreneurs in the region and their contributions to the economy.
Spanning enterprises of all investment levels — micro, small, medium, large, and extra-large — the awards celebrate excellence across all business sectors.
Special recognition at the awards include Woman Entrepreneur of the Year, Differently-Abled Entrepreneur of the Year, and Young Entrepreneur of the Year. While there is a focus on manufacturing, service, trading, and agriculture, special awards are bestowed in recognition of contributions to the economy from the gem and jewellery, tea manufacturing, tourism, and innovative business sectors.
Seylan Bank’s sponsorship of the award aims to highlight its support and ongoing empowerment of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the region of the Sabaragamuwa Province.
It is an effort to help elevate businesses and make them flourish by providing access to a range of banking solutions.
The event serves as a platform for the Bank to empower SMEs and unlock their potential while providing tailored financial solutions and expert advice along with the tools to scale their businesses to new heights, contributing to the region’s competitiveness in the global market.
Organised by the Sabaragamuwa Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the National Enterprise Development Authority (NEDA) under the Ministry of Industries, the event occupies special place in the province.
It presents an opportunity to promote sustainable economic growth in the region. The event covers 29 Divisional Secretariats, District Trade Associations, and District Chambers in the Ratnapura and Kegalle districts.
