Apna Perera retained the SSC Open Men’s singles tennis title for the second year when he beat Ashen Silva in straight sets in the CL Synergy tennis championship final played at the SSC courts Maitland Place yesterday.
Perera won the two sets on 6/4, 6/3 without any blemish to emerge champion.
On the other hand, Akesha Silva became the women’s champion when she beat Oneli Samarawickrama in the final. She managed to win the first set on 7/5, but lost the second set on 3/6.
Akesha somehow tightened her game in the deciding set and won 6/3 to clinch the crown.
