EXPLORER provides a platform for Industry veterans to sit on the “EXPLORER Hot seat” to air their views so that the direction in which tourism is traveling is well conveyed and is a message that needs to be heard by all.
However far and wide one may have travelled, there are yet places rarely known of in Sri Lanka. Through ‘Discover Sri Lanka’ we intend to highlight all the sites of our country. The ones too well known, the ones rarely heard of and the unknown. Wild Life has a special place in the Tourism sector.‘Safari Trails’ will spotlight this popular aspect weekly.
We would love to read exceptional experiences of the reader’s travails and will welcome articles to select the best to publish in our column, ‘Travelogue’.
Life and leisure is never complete without events. Beauty pageants seem to attract the attention of the public. ‘Crown Glam’ focuses this week on Miss Sri Lanka for Miss Universe, a prestigious contest that has maintained its reputation. The auditions for Miss Sri Lanka for Miss Universe 2025 will be held at the newly declared 5 star hotel in town, NH Collections next week.
EXPLORER has the distinction of being the first print media to announce the Miss Sri Lanka for Miss Universe 2025 contest. We commence our very first Life and Leisure section of EXPLORER featuring the franchise holder, Nirmal Bandara, a very talented young man who has painstakingly brought this prestigious contest to Sri Lanka.
Alongside, we take pride in also featuring the first Beauty Queen, Maureen Hingert selected as Miss Ceylon in 1955, who went on to bring fame and glory to our country by being placed the 2nd runner up at the International pageant. We go back memory lane to spotlight the wonderful win of this lady. She is a living legend and is worthy of remembrance of her great achievement personally for her and for the country.
Last but not least the EXPLORER that consists of an eight page pullout features those “Scene” Around on its back cover. All those beautifully dressed ladies, the dapper gentlemen and the trend setters included who attend the key functions in the city, will be featured weekly in the “Scene” Around columns.
