The Indonesian Festival, jointly organised by The Embassy of Indonesia and The Sri Lanka Indonesia Friendship Association (SLIFA), took place at the Embassy premises recently.
The festival, featuring a cultural evening and a Bazaar, was organised for the third consecutive year. All proceeds from this event will support charitable causes.
The Bazaar was inaugurated by Dewi Gustina Tobing, the Ambassador of Indonesia to Sri Lanka and the Maldives. She was welcomed by Nihal President of SLIFA Jayasuriya, and members of the Executive Committee. The festival was also attended by foreign ambassadors from Iran, Nepal, the Maldives, Australia, South Africa, and Malaysia.
The Chief Guest for the Indonesian Festival’s cultural show was Secretary-General of Parliament Kushani Anusha Rohanadeera. She was welcomed by Dewi Gustina Tobing, the Ambassador of Indonesia, Nihal Jayasuriya, President of SLIFA, and members of the Indonesian Embassy and Executive Committee.
A highlight of the event was the Indonesian Pavilion, which showcased the Indonesian Batik Industry with a demonstration of Batik manufacturing by an Indonesian team. The pavilion also featured Indonesian musical instruments, products, and tourism promotion.
