The Language Day event, Inspira te! Gen Z+, was held with great fanfare at the Elphinstone Auditorium on August 23, 2024 under the guidance of the Principal of OKI Junior School, Nishanthi Rathnayake.
It showcased the students’ talents and creativity, leaving the audience in awe of their performances.
From captivating speeches and thought-provoking dramas to beautifully choreographed dances and musical performances, the students demonstrated their mastery of language and the arts.
Each performance was a testament to the hard work and dedication of the teachers and the students of the OKI Junior school at Wattala. The creative presentations highlighted not only the linguistic abilities of the students but also their capacity to convey powerful messages through art.
The event was graced by the Chairman of Lake House, Prof. Harendra Kariyawasam, Directress of OKI Network, Deneum Abeysekara, Consultant of the OKI School Network, Channa Gunewardene and the keynote address by Peter D. Almeida, who praised the students for their outstanding performances. They commended the school for nurturing such talent and fostering an environment where creativity and expression are encouraged.
The principal expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the teachers, staff and parents for their unwavering support in making Inspira te! Gen Z+. The event served as a reminder of the boundless potential of the younger generation and their ability to inspire and lead in the future.
