Project to facilitate SL-Japan biz partnerships

 In recent years Sri Lanka’s economic partnership with Japan has developed extending beyond trade and tourism, President-elect of the Sri Lanka–Japan Business Co-operation Committee (SLJBCC) of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce, Daya Weththasinghe told the Annual General Meeting of the SLJBCC recently.

Ambassador for Japan in Sri Lanka, Kenichi Suganuma, was the chief guest.

“This year, the SLJBCC initiated a project to facilitate business partnerships between Sri Lanka and Japan and has appointed the Vice President of the SLJBCC, Sarath de Costa as the representative to lead the initiative,” he said.

The Committee elected for 2016-2017: President - Daya Weththasinghe, (Chairman, Globe Group of Companies), Advisors - Tilak de Zoysa (Chairman, AMW Capital Leasing and Finance) and P.D. Rodrigo. Vice Presidents -. Mahen Dayananda, (Chairman, Indo Asia Teas), Tissa Jayaweera (Chairman/CEO, Advanced International Management Services), C.S.W. de Costa (Managing Director, Amano Lanka Engineering), Dayasiri Warnakulasooriya (Chairman/ Managing Director, Midaya Ceramic Company) and Merrik Gooneratne (Executive Director, TOS Lanka).

Committee Members - Dinesh Saparamadu, Ruwan Waidyaratne, Mahen Kariyawasan, and Ms. Julianne Boulton (Secretariat of the CCC).
