Speaker Deshabandu Karu Jayasuriya will be conferred with the honorary title, ‘Vishwa Kirthi Sri Lanka Janaranjana’ by the Sri Lanka Ramanna Maha Nikaya, in recognition of his distinguished services rendered as an illustrious citizen and as an internationally respected stateman and the meritorious work to the ‘Sambuddha Sasana’.
The speaker will receive the title from the Most Ven. Agga Maha Panditha Napana Pemasiri, Chief Prelate of the Maha Nikaya on Tuesday, March 28 at 3.00 p.m., at the Headquarters of the Sri Lanka Ramanna Maha Nikaya, No.566, Elvitigala Mawatha, Colombo 5.
He was also bestowed with the world renowned honorary title, ‘The Rising Sun’ by His Majesty Akihito, Emperor of Japan recently.
