A driver involved in a Cooper City car accident Tuesday claims a spider caused the crash. The unnamed driver lost control of her vehicle and hit a light post on Nob Hill Road and Southwest 57th Street. Broward Sheriff’s Department spokesperson Mike Jachles tweeted the driver told him a spider was loose in the car.

The 26-year-old driver says the spider was spinning a web above her and landed on her leg while she was driving. The woman was taken to the hospital with minor injuries and released.

While it’s unknown what type of arachnid was to blame, Jachles added that the spider was “not #itsybitsy.” -
