CastMeClub has a vision to bring all barriers down and create an opportunity for aspiring actors worldwide to be recognized solely for their talents. CastMeClub is built on the premise that, if an actor is to be cast for a role, it should be determined by the actor’s talents and not by an actor’s lack of access to opportunities; such as his/her location, access to agents and influential mentors.
The words associated with an actor are usually luxury and high-life. However, this is not the case, especially when an actor commences his/her career. It is a constant struggle to be noticed.
Actors, irrespective of whether they qualify in the profession or not, usually have to seek employment in other professions to make ends meet. As a result, actors either lose focus of their true passion or worse, giving up on their dreams completely! This is the pain-point faced by all actors CastMeClub hopes to eliminate.
CastMeClub is a social online platform that builds and nurtures a community specifically for actors. In layman terms, it is a hybrid of Facebook (social), Linkedin (professional networking) and IMDB (Internet Movie Database). The platform provides aspiring actors to be seen and heard equally, and allow actors and likeminded individuals to encourage their peers to improve and better their skills by socializing and sharing their feedback, and in the process, for aspiring actors to be discovered globally.
A fun, young startup based in San Francisco, California, CastMeClub being the brain-child of Sri Lankan founders; they are determined to provide Sri Lankan actors and entertainers with the opportunity to enter the global stage and demonstrate their skills, sense of collegiality and the importance shown towards nurturing and supporting their community.
The founders of CastMeClub are further determined to provide opportunities for talented individuals by working with a development team based in Colombo to develop and maintain their platform and sourcing talent locally to build their marketing and communications team.
