Minister of Finance and Mass Media, Mangala Samaraweera met the representatives of the Chamber of Provincial Entrepreneurs at the Ministry of Finance on Wednesday, to iron the difficulties faced by them.
The representatives briefed Minister Samaraweera on the issues faced by them especially with regard to the calculation of taxes. They also stressed on issues regarding the payment of VAT and other taxes my small time business entrepreneurs.
The Minister said the Treasury hopes to rectify issues faced by small business owners with regard to the calculation and payment of taxes through the next budget. State Minister of Finance, Eran Wickramaratne and Secretary to the Treasury, Dr. R.H.S. Samaratunga were also present.
