Giri Kuta Kashyapa to mount the boards again

Young playwright and director Akhila Sapumal who has brought forth works such as, Ravana Adaraya Husma Langa, Hinawela Minithuthuwak, Vikara Handewa for the Sinhala theatre is staging his epic musical, Giri Kuta Kashyapa on July 16 at 4pm and 7pm at the Tower Hall theatre in Maradana Colombo.

This musical which deals with a controversial episode in the country’s history shows the ascent of King Kashyapa who claimed the throne of Lanka through patricide and is known for the enigmatic marvel we know today, as Sigiriya. A work of theatre that can be enjoyed by the young and the old alike, this musical features a fusion of melodies and rhythms that run into a spectrum of choreography and song.
