The Ministry of Science, Technology and Research is ready to support the government initiated national food production effort.
In this endeavour, a tree planting ceremony was held at the Ministry premises recently, under the patronage of Minister Susil Premajayantha.
The national food production week was held from October 6 to 12 under the theme, ‘National food production war 2017’. The key objective of the initiative was to enhance food production in the country and limit imports, and thereby become self sufficient in food.
The Ministry of Science, Technology and Research will support the research in the field of food production in order to develop and increase agricultural production. The Ministry will provide financial assistance and improve the quality of the output by value addition to make the efforts a success.
