Wadduwa Central bags five medals

Wadduwa Central College set a new record by bagging 5 medals (one gold, one silver and 3 bronze medals) at the recently held Kalutara District Karate Do Championship.

The Championship was organized by the Sri Lanka Karate Do Association which is affiliated to Japan Kate Do Association and held at the Pasdunrata Teacher Training College, Kalutara recently.

T. Santhush Chethika (Under 16) won gold, K.G.H. Sachintha Kularatne Silva (Under 21), won silver and the bronze medals were won by B. Thilina Dilshan (Under 21), Chinthaka Lahiru (Under 16) and G.P.R. Roshitha Perera all at ‘Katha’ events.

Kalutara District Chief Karate Instructor and visiting lecturer of Self-Defence Fighting Methods, Shihan L.P. Edirisinghe is their coach, who holds several karate awards and a Black Belt for Karate.
