Catic-Eng China and Sri Lanka hold New Year Sports festival in Colombo

On 6th January 2018, we welcomed the first weekend of the New Year, with many Chinese and Sri Lankans gathered at *St. Joseph’s College* in Clolombo with all the screaming and cheering from different sites to celebrate the annual sports festival of Catic-Eng for China and Sri Lanka Friendship.

The festival started in the morning with honored guests Yang Zuoyuan, the Economic and Commercial Counselor of Chinese Embassy, Luo Chong, Chief of political section of Chinese Embassy, Chang Qianjin, Deputy military officer of Chinese Embassy, Ansar, Chairman of National Water Supply & Drainage Board, Mr. N.R.Suriyarachchi, Chairman of Road Development Authority Deputy General Manager of CATIC Sri Lanka as well as leading group of CATIC Sri Lanka. Along with more than 700 people from RDA, FSDI, China Construction Third Engineering Bureau Co. Ltd, MAGA, CSEC and other co-operators, we welcome the New Year with passion and enthusiasm by competition of wisdom, strength and team work. As a tradition to welcome the New Year, the sports festival has improved the physical quality of our staff and help everyone to get exercise and relaxed after work which leads to a healthy and harmonious corporate culture. After a whole day’s intensive competition, 36 individuals and groups have won awards for badminton, basketball, volleyball, table tennis, athletics, tug of war, and cricket.

At the end of the day’s events, the honored guests gave away the awards to winners. The function was highly praised by Chinese Embassy, National Water Supply & Drainage Board and Road Development Authority. This function was a gathering of Chinese and Sri Lankan companies and staff which improves the friendship of the two countries.
