Soothing balm for smartphone, tablet users

18 February, 2018

Twenty three years after introducing Tiger Balm in India, Haw Par Corporation, the Singapore-based healthcare firm, has introduced a balm meant for neck and shoulder pain for heavy users of smartphones and other mobile devices who may be suffering from posture-related aches.

“Tiger Balm Neck and Shoulder Rub is the first solution with a calming lavender fragrance that provides non-greasy, fast-acting relief targeting neck and shoulder pains, already popular in countries such as the U.S, Germany and Singapore,” the company said. “With a young and forward-looking population in India where the Tiger Balm brand name is already established, it is only logical that we introduce our next new product here,” said A.K. Han, Executive Director, Haw Par Corporation, at a briefing.

Mumbai-based Alkem Healthcare, which is the exclusive distributor of Tiger Balm in India, will market the new product. “Indians have been looking for a solution to their long-standing problem of aching necks and shoulders,” Senior VP (Mmarketing and Sales), Alkem Healthcare said.

Long hours of use of smartphones, tablets, laptops, texting, emailing or playing games are resulting in aches in the neck and shoulders, the firm said.
