Trinity beat Thomians

8 April, 2018

Trinity College bounced back into recognition with a good performance at the Pallekelle Ground last evening as they pulled off a 34-24 victory over the young S. Thomas’ College side.

In this game the Trinitians performed up to expectations with the forwards again combining beautifully. They played with a real purpose and dominated the play enjoying more possessions.

Trinity scored three goals, two tries and one penalty while the Thomians had three goals and one penalty as the winners led 13-3 at half time.

The Thomians made some crucial errors and only got their act together in the second half which was too late.

Their three-quarters also fumbled on a number of occasions and made too many mistakes.

Kingswood-Antonian off

The Kingswood versus St .Anthony’s rugby match was called off as the lines on the ground were not visible due to heavy rain that fell in Kandy yesterday.

Referee A Jamaldeen refused to blow the match.

This was the most looked forward to game of the week and even the under-18 game was not played. The Under 14 and 16 games went in favor of the Antonians.

The match was postponed for April 10.
