Army and Expo Lanka advanced to the finals of the A division Eva netball tournament at the Air Force ground yesterday.
In the over-40 age category Speed Bird SC and Pentose SC will be battle it out for honours while in the men’s category Police SC will face Samagi SC from Anuradhapura and Net Fire SC Colombo play against United SC Negombo in the semi finals.
The A division matches were played on a league basis and Army and Expo Lanka were unbeaten.
Minister of Sports Minister Faizer Mustapha graced the opening day along with Sri Lanka Netball Association president Trixi Nanayakkara and vice president Lakshmi Victoria.
Air Force emerged A Division Open Women’s champions in last year’s edition when they beat Navy 45-36 at the finals. United SC, Kurana won the A Division Men’s trophy from a total of 10 teams which participated in the tournament last year.
Minister of Women’s and Child Affairs Chandrani Bandara will be the Chief Guest at the closing ceremonies today.
