Prime Minister Ranil Wickremasighe presents the Prime Minister’s Sport Fund cheque to National Olympic Committee president Suresh Subramanium and Sports Minister Faizer Mustapha at a ceremony to launch the Fund ahead of the Asian Games at Temple Trees in Colombo last Tuesday. The initial payment of Rs 50 million will be set aside for athletes with the potential to win medals at major international events.
