Sri Lanka Cricket cancels Press exposure

23 September, 2018

Sri Lanka Cricket which is now under a so-called Competent Authority cancelled a Press conference with reporters that it called to discuss the team’s ouster from the Asia Cup.

The meeting was cancelled a few hours after the media was notified of the event that was scheduled for Thursday.

The team captain, manager, coach and the selectors were listed to be present at the Press conference.

When asked why the meeting was cancelled the reason given was that the tour party members would have been “too tired” for a morning media event after returning the previous night from the UAE.

Sri Lanka’s exit from the Asia Cup after defeats to Bangladesh and Afghanistan was the biggest shock in recent times although some experts say Afghanistan played better cricket on the day that caught the Sri Lankans on the blind-side.
