Creating a safe working environment for the public servants is my first duty, said Secretary to the Prime Minister Sirisena Amarasekara.

He made this observation addressing a media conference after assuming duties as the new Secretary to the Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa at the Prime Minister’s office yesterday.

He said that the Establishment of the institutions such as Financial Crimes and Investigation Division (FCID) have badly affected the freedom of the public servants. S.Amarasekara was appointed as the Secretary to the Prime Minister in the place of Saman Ekanayake which fell vacant with an extraordinary gazette notification issued by President Maithripala Sirisena.

In the mean time the Presidential Secretariat informed the heads of government Departments, corporations, boards and state banks that the Cabinet has been dissolved yesterday.
