Isipathana meet Thurstan at revived badminton match

The badminton encounter between Thurstan College and Isipathana College, which was shelved after 2014 due to unavoidable circumstances, will be revived and is scheduled to take place today (27) from 1.00 pm at the Lumbini College Sports Complex.

The encounter will be contested by under-19 and 15 players. This team encounter is the second, though it commenced in 2014, the first of which was won by Thurstan College.

The Junior Old Boys of Isipathana College after discussions with Thurstan College principal and Prefect of Games have decided to revive the encounter with the blessings of Isipathana. The organizing committee of Isipathana has also got the support of Thurstan Junior Old Boys Union too.

The Junior Old Boys Union of Thurstan College has agreed to join hands with the Isipathana College Old Boys Union to revive the encounter with the aim of promoting the game and also promoting friendship among shuttlers of the two schools.

Thurstan is skippered by Sahan Virandith while Isipathana is led by Thewanjith Seneviratne. Shuttlers of both schools are eagerly awaiting for the big occasion to prove their talents. (BP)
