Mohamed Irshad Uvais received a probationary Black Belt at the Grading Test conducted by Fei Quan Do grand master M. Hassen Khalid at the Royal College Sports Complex recently.
Several other students also turned up for the grading test for orange, green, blue, grey, purple, brown and black belts that were conducted by the well-known martial artist and physical fitness expert.
The participants were tested for their skill and prowess in free fights, Katas, techniques, combination punches, individual free-fighting, group sparring and endurance. Trophies and gold medals were awarded to successful students in the senior grades.
The grand master was assisted by deputy chief instructor M. Nuzky Khalid (5th Dai black belt), Ahmad Kabeer (Black belt), Akram Khan (Black belt), T.Thirusenduran (Black belt) and S. Bavithran (Black belt).
The guests of honour were Dr. Channa Gunasekara, W.K.C. Wimaladharma and D. Leelarathne.
