The Department of Management and Finance of the General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University (KDU) annually organises the KDU Logistics Day. This is the premier event of the Department and is a collaborative program connecting academics, university students, state sector and industries.

The Logistics Day will be held on April 5 at the General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University (KDU), Ratmalana.

It will be on the theme ‘Logistics and Operations in International Trade: The Way Forward’.

The Chairman and Acting CEO of National Agency for Public-Private Partnership, Ministry of Finance and Media, Thilan Wijesinghe will be the chief guest and the keynote speaker, while the Associate Director-Integrated Supply Chain of Fonterra Brands Lanka, Kamal Geeganage will be the guest speaker.

While logistics and operations in international trade is a pertinent topic in the context of Sri Lanka, an intellectual dialogue is encouraged among the resource persons, invitees, and participants. There are two main objectives of the KDU Logistics Day 2019. First, is the knowledge sharing of practicalities of logistics and operations from the perspectives of experts in the field. Second, is the inculcation of ideas through a panel discussion and dialogue among the guests and learned audience.

Logistics Times, a copyrighted Logistics Magazine in Sri Lanka will be launched for the fourth consecutive time. A case study competition will be conducted accompanied by rewarding prizes for the winners from the corporate sponsors.

A pre Logistics Day program was conducted by the FMSH Management Club of KDU recently with industry and professional support to introduce logistics and operations for GCE Advanced Level students.
