Ceylon Chamber delegation visits New Delhi

On the initiative of the Sri Lanka High Commission, the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce led a two-day business promotion mission to New Delhi recently, to continue business and trade links with industry leaders in the Northern States of India.

The mission was also organised to promote the ‘Sri Lanka Investment and Business Conclave’ and the ‘Sri Lanka Economic Summit’ due to be held from 16th to 18th September 2019 in Colombo.

This delegation comprised six leading companies representing areas such as manufacturing, IT, logistics, construction, tea, rubber products, legal services, machinery imports and more.

This two-day program organised by the Sri Lanka High Commission included a business interactive sessions followed by B2B meetings with members of the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Federation of Indian Exporters Organisation (FIEO), Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FICCI) and the Indian Importers Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IICCI).

During the business interactive sessions, the leader of the delegation, Senior Assistant Secretary General of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce Lilakshi de Mel, made a detailed presentation on the Sri Lanka Investment and Business Conclave scheduled to be held in Colombo from September 16-17, and invited Indian industry members for their participation at the event in Colombo, to explore new business and investment opportunities.

The business delegation included Managing Director, Ceyteck International, P.S. Rathnayake, Senior Legal Counsel F.J.& G de Saram, Praveeni Algama, Manager, Regional Business Development, Hayleys Adventis, Dilanjan Perera, CEO, The Capital Maharaja Organisation, Sumith Kumara, and Business Development Manager/Delhi, BoardPAC, Sameer Das.
