SLIC launches benefits for motor insurance customers

Sri Lanka Insurance (SLIC) launched a host of benefits to boost customer convenience through its flagship brand, Sri Lanka Insurance Motor Plus, at the Colombo Hilton last week.

With a customer base of over 1.5 million, and an income premium exceeding Rs. 1 billion, SLIC aims at deploying the latest technology and innovative services to provide a faster and more convenient customer experience, along with protection for customers and their vehicles. Motor Plus policy holders could enjoy the privilege of having claims below Rs. 75,000 settled within three working hours without repair estimates, repair bills and salvage and after repair inspection.

It provides fast track settlement of vehicles’ insurance claims without repair bills and salvage for claims below Rs. 500,000.

The company will provide free personal accident cover worth Rs. 1,000,000 to the insured against accidental death and total permanent disability for private cars, double cabs and private dual purpose vehicles making it superlative with competitive motor insurance products in the market, a spokesman said.

SLIC Chief Executive Officer Chandana Aluthgama said SLIC will create benchmarks as it has always done with past products, to offer greater convenience to customers.

“Our three-year strategic plan is proof that we could reach every nook and corner of the country.

We have proved that we are a different government entity backed by a loyal and efficient team focused on offering the best service to customers,” he said.

The SLIC also launched an app comprising advanced features to track and identify the exact location of the accident in an emergency situation to ease the hassle of customers who could browse it for information on SLIC partner networks, policy and product details, history of claims and make premium payments for Life and General insurance policies. The SLIC mobile app will be available for customers on Android platform from August 1.

Motor insurance customers could renew their insurance online via the SLIC customer portal and the SLIC motor app. The motor insurance provider offers flexible payment plans through leading credit cards and payment options including Visa, Master, Amex, Frimi, Genie, Ez cash, and mcash. - LF
