Oneli Lehansa of Musaeus College was adjudged as the most outstanding player in the St. John’s College, Nugegoda, organized Western Province Open and Junior Ranking Table Tennis Championship held at S. Thomas’ College Indoor Stadium in Mount Lavinia on August 10 and 11.

Oneli won the singles in the Open Women’s, under-18 and under-15 events.

This also coincided with the 104 anniversary celebrations of St. John’s College.

Malins Alwis President, of the OBA of St. John’s College, Nugegoda was the chief guest and presented the main awards.

Total number of 498 players participated.

U-8: Bimsara Abeywickrama (Ananda) beat Aahil Nabeel (Royal) 11/6, 8/11, 12/10.

U-10: Sandith Hendahewa (Royal) beat Pasindu Bashitha (Loyola College, Bopitiya) 8/11, 11/3, 11/5.

U-12: Dewmeth Weerasena (Lyceum, Nugegoda) beat Danuk Lamasuriya (Ananda) 13/11, 14/12.

U-15: Aathif Rusthi (Royal) beat Sanuth Jayasumana (Lyceum Gampaha 11/2, 11/7.

U-18: Sanuth Jayasumana (Lyceum, Gampaha) beat Aathif Rusthi (Royal) 11/8, 14/12.

Open Mens Singles: Rasika Manoj (Army) beat Mahith Jayasumana (Lyceum, Gampaha) 11/8, 11/9.

(Girls singles):

U-8: Shenela Perera (Holy Cross, Gampaha) beat Ranuki Senaratne (Visakha) 11/9, 11/8.

U-10: Mekalya Fernando (Musaeus) beat Sasni Panagoda (Sumedha College, Gampaha) 9/11, 11/7, 11/7.

U-12: Sandinthie Jayasinghe (Musaeus) beat Shenalie Mendis (Musaeus) 11/3, 11/6.

U-15: Oneli Lehansa (Musaeus) beat Minna Hassim (Ladies College) 11/9, 14/ 12.
