Galley-52

22 September, 2019

Galley-52 is a nautical theme, postmodern, and contemporary eatery in the heart of Galle Fort which serves Sri Lankan Fusion, Pan Asian, Mediterranean and Indian cuisine under one roof and thrives on catering to those who wish to indulge in an experience of modern cuisine.

Galley 52 believes in serving ‘honest’ food that is fresh, locally sourced and prepared with an added “Sri Lankan-ised” touch to it with its condiments and ingredients. We aim to provide the diner with an eating experience with the presentation, appropriate portion sizes where each dish is meant for one to provide a wholesome experience. The names of the dishes are based on ships, pirates and ship routes.

Some of the dishes Galley-52 is famously for are the Creamy Chicken Korma, served with iron flattened chapatis, a side of rice, sour pickle and kachumber salad. The Colonial Biryani is curry mutton cubes simmered and cooked with saffron rice is served in a clay pot after heating at 300 degrees for six mins.

New dishes include ‘Isso Hodi Rice’, a modern Sri Lankan dish; others include Cheese and Chicken Kotthu, Pad Thai, a Butter Chicken made with Greek Yogurt, and Pol Roti with Polos.

Galley-52 is owned and managed by “The Food Cartel” a management team that has over 30 years collective experience in running and managing restaurants in Dubai specializing in casual dining together with Ayura Leisure by Ayura Holdings. We are open for in house dining with a seating capacity of 35 and an open courtyard which serves as an ideal dining experience by evening.
