The 158th church feast of St. Mary’s, Mattakkuliya will be celebrated on December 8. The theme for this year’s feast is, ‘Let us be servants of the word’.
The parishioners of St. Mary’s Church hoisted the flagstaff on November 28 followed by the recitation of the Rosary and a Requiem Mass. The Novenas at 6.30 pm daily in Sinhala will continue till December 6. Vespers will be sung at 7.15 pm on December 7 presided over by Rev. Fr. Rohan Fernando OMI of the Centre for Social and Religious Affairs. Rev. Fr. Prakash Fernando will officiate at the festive High Mass at 8 am on December 8.
