Seasonal cheer

5 January, 2020

As part of this year’s philanthropic holiday plans, it was a day well spent for children in the care of AMI Tsunami Foundation Orphanage accompanied by staff members of Platinum One Suites and their children.

The recently concluded Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony was held at the luxury hotel. Dressed in their best smiling children gathered is the lobby lounge participated in fun-filled games, and face painting, while enjoying mouth watering treats. They received goodie bags and there was a surprise visit from Santa which evoked much laughter.

Providing star-class Sri Lankan hospitality services since early 2019, Platinum One Suites is pleased to add the event as part of its annual calendar following a launch success in true Christmas spirit. In addition to enhancing tourism, Platinum One Suites is ambitious to empower lives, hence making a difference for children coming from vulnerable and neglected backgrounds.

“The Tree Lighting Ceremony has shown solidarity towards bereaved children. We are certain it has made a valuable impact on the community and touched hearts at a time of seasonal festivities and togetherness.

Children offer so much to the world and what’s important is to ensure a brighter future for those short of parental care and shelter. After all, their smiles are the best gift for us,” shared, COO of Platinum One Suites, Mahesh Amarasinghe.

Each child was offered the chance to share their Christmas gift wish which adorned the branches of the main Christmas tree at the apart-hotel.

These little wish-lists were then arranged by the host hotel and gifted to the children shortly after the event, thanks to charitable donations made by staff and guests who partook in what was an unforgettable celebration throughout.
