Black Panther rediscovered in SL

The Department of Wildlife has retraced the Sri Lankan Black Panther which is considered to be extinct in Sri Lanka.

The Sri Lankan Black Panther is believed to have gained it’s unique characteristics due to a colour mutation.

Black panther was reported previously from Mawuldeniya, Pitadeniya when it was found dead in a trap.

The Department of Wildlife has captured footage to ensure that the Sri Lankan Black Panther is not an animal limited to history,

Accordingly, they have discover the exitance of a black panther family consisting of a male, female and two cubs.
