Troops of the Sri Lanka Sinha Regimental (SLSR) Centre of the 141 Brigade under the 14 Division of the Security Force Headquarters - West (SFHQ- West) swiftly took urgent measures to contain a fast spreading wild bushfire in the general area of Bothale, Mirigama in Gampaha District.
The fire that broke out in Akeshiya plantation Bothale, Mirigama area was reportedly spreading fast at the time Army troops had arrived at the scene.
On the instructions of acting Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva, Major General A.S Ariyasinghe General Officer Commanding, 14 Division, one Officer and 25 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment Centre troops brought the situation under control.
