Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena announced the names of the 26 MPs who were appointed to the Committee on Parliamentary Business.
According to the Standing Orders of Parliament, the committee is headed by the Speaker and includes the Deputy Speaker Ranjith Siyambalapitiya, Deputy Chairman of Committees Angajan Ramanthan, Leader of the House Dinesh Gunawardena, Leader of the Opposition Sajith Premadasa, Chief Government Whip Johnston Fernando and Chief Opposition Whip Lakshman Kiriella.
In addition, Chamal Rajapaksa, Nimal Siripala de Silva, Prof GL Peiris, Douglas Devananda, Dullas Alahapperuma, Wimal Weerawansa, Mahinda Amaraweera, Vasudeva Nanayakkara, Prasanna Ranatunga, Mahinda Samarasinghe, Gayantha Karunathilaka, Rauff Hakim, Anura Kumara Dissanayake, Dilan Perera, Rishad Bathiudeen, Ranjith Maddumabandara, Mano Ganesan, MA Sumanthiran and Ali Sabry Raheem were appointed as the other members.
