Women Parliamentarians’ Caucus stands for SL’s First Female DIG

The Women Parliamentarians’ Caucus said that they stand for the occupational rights and job security for the Sri Lanka’s first Deputy Inspector General (DIG).

The chairperson of the Women Parliamentarians Caucus, State Minister of Primary Health Care, Epidemics and COVID-19 Disease Control Dr. Sudarshini Fernandopulle condemned the challenge to the appointment of Bimshani Jasinghearachchi at a media briefing held in Parliament today (18).

DIG Bimshani Jasinghearachchi was the Director of the Police Children’s and Women’s Bureau. 

Dr. Fernandopulle pointed out that the Caucus was very pleased with the appointment of the female DIG as a contribution to gender equality.
