How to spend your school holidays

2 January, 2022

We still live with our enemy. Even the main cities have come back to their former selves; the Covid-19 is behind us like a dark shadow. Many have slipped through the vaccination net pretending to be head-nodding pundits.

However, we cannot ignore health guidelines. As noted by experts, we have to abide by the health regulations and follow the health guidelines to the letter.

During school holiday, most parents, together with their children and relatives, might go on trips. Sadly, behind us is our blood-thirsty enemy, Covid-19. Undoubtedly, travelling during a pandemic requires a more detailed and cautious approach than before.

How to plan your trip:

* Try to avoid public transport.

* Don't travel with unknown people because we don't know whether they are infected with the virus.

* Use hand sanitizers when needed and wear face masks.

* Use a disinfectant to clean the surface of objects that you might touch.

* Avoid taking selfies with others, removing your face masks.

When you are going on a trip with your beloved ones, unknowingly you might take health guidelines for granted and stay in a hotel. On such occasions, you have to use the beds, pillows and bed sheets provided by them. To be honest, we can't expect them to have been disinfected properly as they said. It is a wise move if you can use your own pillow cases without using what they provide.

Yes of course, not only the pillowcases, you have to apply Dettol on the surface of every object that you might touch. For instance, you might unknowingly touch the bed in your sleep. Coronavirus is not a 'karuna-virus' as it always aims to snatch your life.

The possible action that you can take for your life is to keep the enemy at bay. How to do it? It is very simple. You need a bottle of disinfectant, a bowl and a piece of cloth. It does not take a long time for you to apply the disinfectant on what you might touch. In addition, you have to think that those around you are covid-19 infections when traveling. Only then can you protect yourself from the enemy.

The writer does not mean that you are going to hate people. Indeed, in order to strengthen the intimacy with others, you have many ways. Moreover, most young children have a craze for taking selfies with others. Taking a selfie is not viewed as an offence at all. But taking selfies with others, removing your face masks can form coronavirus clusters. As a result of this pandemic, thousands of parents have lost their children and vice versa. It is because of ignorance and carelessness.

Disrupted education

Needless to say that due to various reasons our children's education has been disrupted. Both teachers and students are facing many difficulties in covering up syllabus and missed lessons. If regarded from this perspective, the school holiday is a great opportunity for both parties to catch up on missed lessons. You can make your to-do list, giving the first priority to your studies.

There are many educational programs available on YouTube channels as well. True that most children don't have smart phones and laptops to access such YouTube channels. But surely they have text books and note books in their possession so that they can prepare short-notes for examinations.

Apart from your studies, what is more important for your good health is taking physical exercises. If you plant a sapling in your home Garden, it will be a good exercise for your body. Sometimes you tend to invite your friends to your home during the school holidays.

But never forget that the coronavirus can come to your little home with your friends. Honestly, this is not a better time for us to relax our minds as we did many years ago. During the school holidays, we must abide by the health regulations.
