Attack, the next sci-fi action Bollywood thriller starring John Abraham, Jacqueline Fernandez, and Rakul Preet Singh was released on April 1, 2022. Lakshya Raj Ananad directs the film, and Dr. Jayantilal Gada (Pen Studios), John Abraham (JA Entertainment), and Ajay Kapoor (AK Production) are producers - in addition to the acting, John also works as a co-producer in it. The Hindi-language action-thriller is co-written by Lakshya Raj Anand, Sumit Batheja, Vishal Kapoor and John Abraham. The film is distributed by the studios JA Entertainment, AK Productions, and Pen India Limited.
A super-soldier confronts terrorism
The narrative of the movie is interesting: an army veteran who is now preparing to become India’s first super-soldier confronts terrorism. The super-soldier, played by John Abraham, serves as the prototype of the artificial intelligence super-soldiers who will be used to cope with technology-based future warfare from the country’s foes. The protagonist also tries to acclimatize to his surroundings after a successful session of cybernetic modifications. Overall, the film presents a mix of sci-fi, high octane action, and drama, while the narrative introduces John’s character with human abilities, who can operate beyond normal human limits.
The budget of the film is 55 Crores (Indian Rupees), and that also covers the high-octane action sequences, visually stunning effects, printing and advertising. In a recent interview, John Abraham, one of the producers, revealed that about 30 percent of the budget was dedicated on visual effects, translating into approximately 15 Crores.
The cinematographers include Will Humphris, P.S. Vindo, and Soumik Mukherjee, and editing was done by Aarif Sheikh, and Shashwat Sachdev composed the music for the film. The ‘Attack’ also stars Prakash Raj, Ratna Pathak Shah and Kiran Kumar among others.
Tv Partner of it is BFLIX. The film will be released on TV in June 2022, while it will be released in India on the over-the-top internet platform (OTT) on May 1, 2022. The digital rights belong to Prime Video, while the music rights goes to See Music Company, and the satellite rights was bought by Zee Studio.
“A very interesting concept”
The specialty of the movie is that the audience could see a science fiction movie through it that has never been released before. According to the producers, this has all the potential to amass a large audience.
Before releasing the movie for theatres, the film makers organized a special screening for the influential millennial and Gen-Z crowd along with the Attack cast John Abraham, Jacqueline Fernandez and Rakul Preet Singh. After watching it there, elated Dr. Jayantilal Gada, shared his thoughts as this:
“Attack is a very interesting concept, and having John Abraham as a super-soldier is perfect! I’m hoping this is a breakthrough movie that will usher in a new age of films in our industry as the visual effects and scale compliment the movie beautifully.”
“Super exciting”
Actor John Abraham said, “The film goes down a road no other action films here have tried, there’s a sci-fi angle, a complex drama, there’s a question mark on how India handles terrorists and takes into account of what are history is and who we are as a nation and I can’t wait for the audiences to watch it in cinemas as it was super exciting bringing this film from paper to reel.”
The crowd which watched the movie especially spoke about how stunning Jacqueline Fernandez, the female lead, looked in the film, not to mention how the film was ‘awesome’, ‘entertaining’ and on par with Hollywood standards.

Sharing a short clip through Instagram, Jacqueline wrote, “Now that’s the reaction we all needed!!! Can’t wait for you all to see the #attackmovie !!”
Meanwhile, Jacqueline gave her thoughts to ‘India Today’ on how it was extremely comfortable to work with John Abraham in the ‘Attack’: “It’s always a pleasure to work with John, I am really looking forward to the audience’s reaction to the film. It’s an interesting storyline and an extremely strong narrative and working again with John was extremely comfortable and fun.”
Before this, Jacqueline worked with John in films like ‘Dishoom’, ‘Housefull 2’, ‘Race 3’, and others. As appears from the trailer, John and Jacqueline’s chemistry in the film is already being lauded by their fans.
Second part
According to the producers, ‘Attack’ is part one of the movie, and the second part is due to be produced soon.
However, there is some difficulty in bringing the movie to the audience as three films have already been released in Hindi cinema. The box office collections of Bollywood films are suffering a significant fall due to Akshay Kumar’s ‘Bachchan Pandey’ and ‘The Kashmir File’ films. The film ‘Attack’ is also suffering due to the release of ‘The Kashmir File’. Anyway, producers of ‘Attack’ hope that fans will embrace the movie in spite of the movie congestion.
Trouble and happiness
To end this note, it is important to mention something about Sri Lankan origin Bollywood movie actress Jacqueline Fernandez. In January this year she said she went through a ‘rough patch’ especially after photos with conman Suresh Chandrashekhar went viral - among those photos were a few intimate ones. Chandrashekhar had claimed that he was in a relationship with Fernandez, and his personal relationship has no bearing on his criminal case.
In fact, Sukesh Chandrashekhar is considered a fraudster, and a racketeer. He was involved in a big multi-crore extortion racket in Delhi. So the alleged relationship tarnished the image of Jacqueline tremendously, and things got worse when there was a strong buzz that the actress received expensive and luxurious gifts from Chandrashekhar because of their relationship. This is why the ‘Bhoot Police’ actress (as the Indian media regarded her) took to social media recently to request them to respect her privacy.
Anyway, the amazement of receiving good comments for the acting in ‘Attack’ comes out when things are at such a bad state. Therefore, the success of the movie is very important not just to the producers, but also for Jacqueline. As of now, things seem to be better and she is again ready to make the headlines.
