An all island hartal was held on Friday to protest against the Government and call for speedy action to address economic woes. Most shops in main cities including Fort and Pettah in Colombo remained closed. Public tranport and train services were also disrupted due to many workers except for those engaged in emergency services, taking part in the one day Hartal.
