In the Kandy District Cricket Association Division III tournament three matches were to take place but one match was abandoned due to rain.
In a Group C match played at Prison ground Pallekelle, Kandy Zeylanikans Cricket Club beat Madawella Cricket Club by four wickets while in a Group D match Gampola Cricket Club beat Prisons Sports Club by nine wickets at Lake View ground and a Group A game between Old Rajans Sports Club and Sylvestrians Cricket Club at Lake View ground was called off due to rain.
Sylvestrians CC were 43 for 1 in 9.2 overs when rain halted play with Isuru Madubashana 19 not out and Sadeepa Ratnayake taking 1 for 9.
Madawala CC in their Group C game won the toss and elected to bat and scored 180 runs and in reply Kandy Zeyanikans CC scored 183 for 6.
