A ceremony was held to usher in the New Year at the Head Office of People’s Bank last week during which the Bank staff assumed duties by pledging the Government Service Oath.
Chairman Sujeewa Rajapakse and Acting Chief Executive Officer and General Manager of People’s Bank Clive Fonseka addressed the gathering. Following the chanting of Seth Pirith, multi-religious observances were conducted.
Corporate and Executive Management, representatives of trade unions, representatives of religious organisations and voluntary organisations all team members and pensioners were present. Simultaneously in branches all over the country similar events took place with staff members pledging the Public Service Oath to mark the New Year.
