Lyceum schoolboy in Sri Lanka U-19 squad for Asian triangular

Sri Lanka under-19 cricket team is set to tour the UAE to contest a Tri-Series this month with Afghanistan and Bangladesh being the other two nations in the 50-over showpiece from March 15 to April 4.

In the squad is a boy from Lyceum International School in Wattala, Garuka Sanketh, which is a rare occurrence.

St. Joseph’s College player Shevon Daniel captains the team with right arm off spinner Traveen Mathew and right arm leg spinner Malsha Tharupathi who participated in the ICC under-19 World Cup last year being the key players in the squad.

According to an official, the tour party was picked by the Junior Selection Committee of Sri Lanka Cricket headed by Ranjith Madurusinghe.
