Sri Lankan company Nimbus Ventures has succeeded in creating a revolution in the field of Global Positioning Systems (GPS) and has produced a software tracking system for the management of vehicles owned by business organisations.

This is the first such software platform that has been produced by a local company using Sri Lankan knowledge and skills and the product has been named as Nimbus V Connect.

“This software and related devices are most useful for business and manufacturing organisations that carry out the transportation or distribution activities. Through this, the organisation has the opportunity to manage its fleet of vehicles in a very efficient and systematic manner,” co-founder/CEO/CTO Sanjay Karunasena told Sunday Observer Business.

After a device with the tracking software is installed in a vehicle, the vehicle’s travel details, facts related to the vehicle’s technical and mechanical performance, information related to fuel combustion, can be easily obtained by the management.

“The management of the company is also able to get this information to a mobile phone or a computer every five to ten seconds. The device provides a complete condition report about the vehicle once a week,” he said.

“This makes it possible to control various frauds and irregularities committed by drivers. Since it can produce details once in five or ten seconds, a driver does not get a chance to engage in fraudulent activity,” said co-founder/director of the company, Dion Jayasekara.

“By using Nimbus V Connect you can even get information about the speed of the vehicle and the condition information is extremely important for the safety and durability of the vehicle,” he said.
