Cricket coach Pasindu bags job in Maldives

Renowned cricket coach Pasindu Liyanaarachchi, now a qualified ICC Level 3 mentor, has been contracted as the head coach of the Maldives team initially for a 12-month period.

His primary task in the Maldives will be to condition and prepare the team for 2023 ICC Men’s World Cup qualifier in September-October.

He will also play a major role in the Maldives under-19 team.

Liyanaarachchi is said to have gained vast experience in coaching teams at both club and school level in the island that includes stints at St. Joseph’s College, Mahanama College, Isipathana College and Thurstan College. In the club scene Liyanaarachchi counts stints at Lankan CC and Colombo Malay CC among other entities.

He coached Lankan CC at the Sri Lanka Cricket Premier T20 championship and three-day League tournament in 2020 and 2021.
