Dr. Sunil Jayantha Navaratne, who has vast experience in both public and private sectors, has been appointed as the Finance Director of Lake House (ANCL) from August 8. Dr. Navaratne, who held Secretary positions in the Ministries of Higher Education and Samurdhi is also a former Chairman of the National Youth Services Council (NYSC) and a former Director General of the National Institute of Education (NIE). Dr. Navaratne, an old boy of St. Mary’s College, Kegalle and Hettimulla Bandaranayake Maha Vidyalaya is a graduate of Sri Jayewardenepura University.
He did his Masters and PhD in Japan and is a fluent Japanese speaker. Dr. Navaratne has also worked as a Director of Cargills Ltd and Haleys Fabrics Ltd for some time.
