Litro Gas Lanka promotes the safe use of LPG among schoolchildren

20 August, 2023

Litro Gas Lanka, a leading provider of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) in Sri Lanka, recently introduced a well-structured school awareness program - Heta Surakina Ape Lamai.

The primary objective of this initiative is to enhance awareness and promote the safe use of LPG in households. Implemented across 264 schools in the country, this program aims to educate and empower students, fostering a culture of safe use of LPG.

“The aim of this initiative is to raise awareness about LPG and its benefits among A/L students and, in turn, their parents and families,” said Muditha Peiris, Chairman of Litro Lanka Limited, at the launch of the program.

“Our goal is not only to educate students but also to spread knowledge about the advantages of LPG to a wider audience. This campaign is just the beginning of a series of similar initiatives we have planned highlighting our commitment to promoting LPG usage and its positive impact on society.”

This approach not only educates young students about the responsibility they hold for their family’s well-being from a young age, but also ensures that the concepts of safety, energy, and energy dynamics are understood at a grassroots level. Empowering children to take charge of information and safety helps establish a secure and knowledgeable family unit.

To motivate active participation and recognise the efforts of students, the ‘HetaSurakina Ape Lamai’ program offers various rewards and prizes.

Litro Gas Lanka’s school awareness program represents a commendable effort in promoting safe usage of LPG among households. By engaging students from all districts and providing incentives for participation, the programme not only enhances safety awareness, but also nurtures responsible behaviour among young individuals.
