The 14th Vidyodaya Literary Awards organised by the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura was held at the Sumangala Hall of the University on Friday, September 1 on a grand scale. Manohari Jayalath’s novel ‘Girija’ won the award as the best novel of the year 2022. The Associated Newspapers of Ceylon Limited (Lake House) was the print media sponsor of the event. The award for the novel ‘Girija’, which was a Vidarshana publication was prensted to its author, Manohari Jayalath by the Chairman of Sarasavi Publishers, H. D. Premasiri. The chief guest, the Vice Chancellor of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura Senior Prof. Pathmalal Manage, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences Prof. Shirantha Heenkenda and Lake House Chairman Prof. Harendra Kariyawasam are in the picture.
