The joint committee of past pupils of Ananda and Nalanda Colleges residing in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) organised the ninth Maroons Night Gala Dinner at Crown Plaza Hotel in Deira, Dubai recently.
This annual event was organised to strengthen acquaintances and refresh memories of the old boys of the two brother schools and especially build relationships with other Sri Lankan organisations in the UAE.
The chief guest was Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the UAE, Udaya Indrarathna.
Acting Consulate General and Head of Chancery of Sri Lanka to Dubai and Northern Emirates, Dinithi Weerasena, former Army Commander General (Rtd) Mahesh Senanayake and former cricket captain Roshan Mahanama were the special invitees.
The highlight of the event was the presentation of awards of appreciation to Achinda Witharamalage of Ananda and Dilip Samanthilaka of Nalanda for their support to the respective old boys’ associations.
