The training partner portfolio of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA Sri Lanka) received a fresh boost recently with 16 top companies coming on board to provide practical training for Business and Corporate level students of the institute.

Ansell Lanka, Business Promoters & Partners Engineering, Co-operative Insurance Company, Dutch Lanka Trailer Manufacturers, Hemas Hospitals, Hovael Constructions, Jetwing Travels, Litro Gas, Maga Engineering, Metecno Lanka, Nations Trust Bank, Nor Lanka Manufacturing, Orient Insurance, Singhagiri, Trendywear Adhikarigama and Wickramaratnes received training partner recognition certificates from CA Sri Lanka President Jagath Perera at the institute recently.

Perera emphasized the need for training partners to develop the professional skills, ethics and attitudes of the students, in addition to providing students with the necessary technical exposure.

The 16 companies represent the Non-Public Practice Organisations, and join a portfolio of over 600 approved training partner organisations of CA Sri Lanka. The new companies will provide practical training to aspiring chartered accountants who are following the globally recognised CA qualification at the institute.

Practical training is one of the most unique features of the CA programme and students must complete three years of practical training before qualifying as chartered accountants. CA Sri Lanka’s practical training scheme has been revamped and the new training requirement has been developed in line with the international accounting education standards and also based on the stakeholder expectations from future professional chartered accountants.
