Gishan Vishvajith Edirisinghe of Ananda College who received over 1500 votes from his fans this week was able to go past the 4000 mark reducing the gap he had with Sachin Silva of St. Peter’s College. Sachin Silva too had over 500 votes during the week. Though Gishan got many votes in favor of him he still trails behind Sachin by 1776 votes. The Observer-Mobitel Most Popular Schoolboy Cricketer contest is hotting up steadily with voters taking a great interest in promoting their favorite schoolboy cricketers to achieve the highest milestone in grabbing the Most prestigious Cricket Award which paves the way for them to gain the National cap in the very near future.

With few more weeks ahead for the final count the contest is heading for a stiff battle between the present leaders. It is left for the voters to make the maximum within these weeks to send in as many as possible to see their favorites achieve the milestone they are looking for.
