Overcrowding at Kaudulla National Park

2 September, 2018

With the Minneriya Park closed during peak season due to a clash between Wildlife Department officials and fishermen in the area, rangers and trackers complained of severe overcrowding in the nearby Kaudulla National Park, with some 50 jeeps lining up to view four elephants last week. Park rangers were forced to push safari jeeps back to allow terrified elephants to come out of hiding even for a drink of water (Pic: Thilak Perera)
