The Sunday Observer Sports Desk with respect for the many schoolboys and girls who form a large readership of the Paper, has decided to refrain from reporting on the court proceedings in connection with the rape case involving Sri Lanka cricketer Dhanushka Gunathilake.

His hearing took place in a Sydney court in Australia this week and what was debated was too sleazy, raunchy, explicit and dreadfully intimate that could disrupt the minds of school goers and other minors.

Gunathileke appeared in court after a woman in Sydney alleged she was raped by him when he was part of the Sri Lanka team taking part in the T20 World Cup in November last year.

Gunathilaka will know of his fate on September 28 when the court is expected to deliver its verdict.
