SLT-Mobitel, the National ICT Solutions Provider, undertook initiatives in Matale recently to foster positive change, and expand the environmental, social, and governance (ESG) footprint.

SLT-Mobitel conducted an ESG program at Kaikawala Central College in Matale and engaged in an ESG program comprising four impactful projects. The initiatives included partnering with the STEMUP Foundation to empower student entrepreneurship through STEM education, conducting an enlightening ‘Hour of Code’ workshop, contributing to the Sithak Athnam Pothak Denna book donation program, and promoting environmental sustainability through a tree-planting project.

Supporting another school in the area, the SLT-Mobitel team also visited the Alakolamada Junior School in Rattota, Matale, a remote area with significant needs, where members of the Marketing Services Division repaired three non-functional computers at the school. Additionally, school bags and exercise books were donated to the students, and a valuable book pack was contributed to the school library. The event also featured a tree-planting initiative within the school premises.

DGM/Public Relations of SLT Nilanthi Jayakody, Regional Telecom Office Manager/Matale, Chathurika Bindusara, DGM/Regional Operations of Mobitel, Romesh John, District Manager of Mobitel, Jagath Punchihewa and other SLT-MOBITEL representatives participated.
